Industrial Pump Accessories

Chemical metering pump installations often require piping accessories to insure safe and accurate pumping. Madden offers pump accessories in a number of sizes and materials of construction to fit the design requirements.

Back Pressure Valves – A back pressure valve keeps a positive head on the discharge side of the pump. That prevents siphoning and eliminates varying dosage rates caused by fluctuating downstream pressure. The valve set pressure is adjustable, and a diaphragm protects the spring from the liquid being pumped.

Pressure Relief Valve – A pressure relief valve relieves over pressure on the discharge side of the pump. That prevents damage to the pump and piping. The valve set pressure is adjustable, and a diaphragm protects the spring from the liquid being pumped.

Pulsation Dampener – This device consists of a small vessel with a diaphragm dividing the upper and lower part of the chamber.  Air pressure in the upper section dampens the pressure and flow spike that normally comes with a diaphragm type metering pump.  Elimination of up to 95% of the spike is achievable.  The important element in specifying pulsation dampeners is to make sure the diaphragm and body are compatible with the liquid to be pumped. We sell the Blacoh Fluid Control pulsation dampeners which we have found to be economical and reliable in use with Madden metering pumps.

Calibration Column – A clear PVC tube installed in the suction line of the pump used to precisely measure the pump output at different pump dial settings and operating conditions.
